Hey!!! All you NEETs, nerds, YouTube link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboo from around the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning linguists, stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys, Touhou pirates, and that electrical super-gay who suffers from mental disease - This is your thread! Let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
If every car become autonomous, I wonder how many people keep holding their cars. Ride sharing would become major and less and less people may have their own ones. Every car could become Taxi essentially, we are going uncharted Territory.
i just found a litttle spider taking a rest on a wall in my room. for a long time in japan, spiders in your house are considered an "amulet" to protect your house from the evil so you shouldn't kill them inside your house. ok, i will let him/her stay where it is now...
abe sada (阿部定) case is definitely one of the famous murder cases in the showa era. when she killed her boyfriend, she cut off his genitals and ran away with them. it is said that she told the police later that she cut off and cherished them because she wanted to have him to herself. so, it means that for some women, a penis is a symbol of a man they love so much, doesn't it?
Tell me the news sites that write it. I searched the articles and needless to say, never find such ones. But I came to know that she is consistently targeted by some news outlets.
Anyway, less people seem to be interested in the coming winter game.
She is also an attention-seeking whore. But as a figure skating fan, I have to say her chance of going to the Olympics was next to nothing from the start.
Maybe she learned the lesson the hard way. Or not.
I don't want to see these nasty comments. Ch mate is a good tool block them but I have to filter them every week because of changing ID. That is chore.
Yue was doing fair play by putting his name and giving us option to filter comments easily.
Winter begins to end. Sunlight is getting stronger. But I will start to suffer pollen allergy in spring. There are only 2 or 3 months that is best for me...
I want to improve my English. Making grammatically correct sentences is relatively easy but writing natural phrases are far too difficult. So I decided to give up.
in switzerland, all of the general people's houses have a shelter against nuclear weapons. i think that it is so amazing. if north korea launches nuclear missles and they fall on the tokyo area now, my house and i myself will be blown away and explode into pieces. i don't have such a cool shelter.
I don't know whether he is optimistic or not, but I think we should end easy monetary policy. Interest on a deposit remain almost zero for a decade. I think this is the cause of law consumer confidence. Raising interest is said to damage export industries, but as a whole I think it contributes economy.
2 foreigners came to the office i work at and i had to communicate with them in english to talk about the services our company provides. but i couldn't explain the services well. they couldn't understand what i meant and looked at my face blankly from time to time. i was really dissapointed at my poor english ability. i need to study english harder.
You don’t have to be disappointed at all. Those fucking gaijins really should appreciate your efforts and actually they should have leanrt some Japanese for the first place.
Damn if I was there, I would punch those gaijin faces!
Yes, the person's English is very well, using complex senteces easily. If what the person wrote is true, it may due to the lack of technical terms or vast differences in speaking and writing skills. That is not a rare case among English learners.
one impressive advice my former boss gave me to improve english skills is "to never use dictionaries". she was born and raised in hongkong and her english was excellent. a half of myself can now understand what she meant but the other half still rejects her advice. anyway, native english speakers usually grow up without dictionaries at least before going to elementary schools. and 6 year-old kids have a good command of english and can speak fluently. a dictionary is not a must.
i need more exercise and i want to go out jogging now but it is chilly outside so that i am really afraid to catch a cold or flu. i will stay inside my house tonight...what a coward i am.
according to korean bank's report released in 2008, about 56% of all the companies which were founded more than "200" years ago and are still operated (5,586 companies at the time) are japanese companies. this is a surprising and interesting fact and at the same time i would like to know why.
Everybody seem US economy is going to depression. So,Dollar is getting a little bit of worthless. Then,They buy yen. Means yen get higher. ....Japan is facing depression again.
if you can buy something at supermarkets or discount stores and want to keep it inside a bag for carrying, you can get a transparent/semi-transparent vinyl (plastic?) bag. (sometimes, you need to pay for it.) but when you buy some goods at drugstores, the sales clerks almost always put them in a black/silver/tangerine/etc bag and hand it to you. the bag is the kind that no one can see through. do they do this for the purpose of protecting customers' privacy??
i'm super into foods and drinks but i am not into restaurants or bars or cafes. but i don't think it's good not to visit as many stores as possible to widen and polish my personalities and acquire a wider range of viewpoints. starbucks, veroce, sun marc cafe or tally's coffee, i need to visit those places more.
I wish “starfucks” are available out there like we can order our favorite girls or boys and have fun! Like easy as pie like getting a coffee from starbucks.
i am eating "暴君ハバネロ" by tohato. it is so spicy that i just started to perspirate on my forehead, though it is winter... this snack can make a young child cry.
how could you tell that...? i had to rush into a toilet a couple of times straight this morning. the waste materials came out of my body like explosions of space planets.
i intended to use a word "queer" instead of "strange" in an english sentence and looke up the word in a dictionary, just in case. surprisingly, "queer" had a different meaning other than "strange" and for that meaning, the word was classified as "taboo". the advice comment in the dictionary said "never use this word.". i didn't know about that.
Long awaited reddit community has just started. For long time the idea is facing difficulty but now you have the brand new chatting community. Don't hold back write anything! ttps://www.reddit.com/r/chatinenglish_ja/
the more internet articles on websites i read, the more interested i have got in how the princess mako's love affair story will develop. it may become sidney sheldon's early masterpieces or romeo & juliet by william shakespeare?
there seem to be a lot of funny vending machines around the asakusa area in tokyo. vending machines which dispence, say, tsukune, cigarette pipe, mushroom or miniature toy train. i have been to asakusa once, visited the sensouji temple, but didn't find any at that time. if i have a chance to go there, i will try to find some.
Nice work. I really want to join you now, but I'm still confused as to how I should get it started since I've never used the site before. It would be much appreciated if you first set the examples for us, that way everyone can feel more comfortable to join in.
I thought you guys hated gaijins. Your subreddit is probably going to be taken over by gaijins pretty quickly. I would advise you to at least make it private and invite-only.
google search engine is a very useful tool and if you come across something you don't know, you can instantly know what it is by googling it. btw, have you ever googled your own name? what was the result? a lot of hits?
I do not believe anything about Abe administration but I don't even buy Edano's Rikken neither They lie too much. When I go to their threads, they attack me but the truth is everything They don't even care about the truth at all but somehow getting votes with their pretty lies
It is really funny to see how they would want to sustain their power and money with so many lies that they tell to young people. I am so certain, they don't really favor fairness nor the truth. They do not really care about the next generation of our country. All I see is that they are very eager to have their power and money without people
It is absolutely so shameful, so sad and so depressing I feel almost like a joke that they are the ones, who are talking about our Constitution I mean, with their lies, it seems to me that it is almost like their own Constitution
I thought we were talking about people here but with that opposition party with Edano from Rikken, it seems to me that it is only the fight between the beauracrats without people. So both of them just want to continue on the government without no reform. How is it possible?
You cannot believe how much lies they tell in the threads as usual. Both of them. I think it is very malicious lies. I can see how they are into power and money of their own and not even thinking about our future. When I critize both of them, those supporters really attack me and it is just so obvious that they are almost same people there somehow
I am just so certain that PM Abe is not able to pass out reform that he had avoided for so many years. He is so weak with economy and I believe people who is around him, they are more close to the beauracrats rather than people.
It is 120% sure that our economy will collapse in this way but PM Abe seems to be not aware of that. Or I say, the beauracrats and those people who earns power and money from the way we are today, they'll just reguse the reform no matter what.
The same with the opposition party, especially Edano. Eventhough, they are so into revising our Consitution, Article 9, they don't care about their own people. It is just so ugly out there and I almost do have no word at all.
We have exactly not a lot of choice like this. I keep on saying, why the opposition party chose Edano as a leader because when we think about our economy the reform must be the top priority. Although, they just refuse.
Is that mean, they don't even care about people, as long as they revise the Article 9?
It something that I really do not understand. I really hope that someday, when we all understand the democratic governement stands for it's own people, we have an opportunity to change that Article 9 but I say, NOT NOW
before someone invented toilet paper, how did people wipe out their poop from the anus after pooping? using other sorts of paper or leaves? i need to check it.
my anus cannnot live without washlet any longer. the other day my washlet got broken, so i had to use toilet paper. soon after i wiped my anus, it got so painful. we must keep in mind technology makes our anus weaker.
As krombo people look very strong,I like them. I wouldn't be able to beat them if I battle. I think that they are the most strong people all of the world.
DO NOT JUST WRITE HERE AND DONE. That’s a noble yet controversial topic that more people need to be involved. You should actually publish an essay or something.
I like Sanma-san, just watching him interact with others in the show makes my day. The show also provides intriguing facts on various controversial topics, from science to human relationships. Humor and scientific curiosity, I think it's the best combination ever.
Well, wearing masks for disease prevention is kind of a Japanese thing. And if it makes you feel any better, having yourself infected with flu so easily indicates that your immune system was vulnerable. Maybe you needed to take some rest.
This winter was extremely cold and saw tremendous snowfall. Summer is getting hotter and winter is getting colder every year. This means air conditioner of the globe completely collapsed. Liberal media attributes this to global warming. But if the earth is actually getting warm, winter must be hotter. So this is not the case. Anyway f****** winter finally ends. We won!!!
that's not a big deal. the system problem will be addressed and fixed sooner or later. and there are not so many people in this thread, so you can tell who responds to who.
i quit my job on feb.15th, the day before yesterday. i received several sweets from my colleagues for the valentine's day gift. i am wondering how on earth i will present somethig to them on mar.14th, the white day, in return for their gifts.
I myself am not quite sure what's so good about him Maybe I just generally like people who laugh a lot. OR? apparently he talks much, his ways of delivering speech and how he reacts to other's mockery is something you couldn't learn to do, and that makes him so talented. I love watching talented people and that's that.
The daily exchange report. ttps://info.finance.yahoo.co.jp/fx/ Yen is so expensive recently. That bothers recovely from the deoression of Japan. More monetaly easing is needed now.
i haven't watched the winter olympics held in korea on tv even a second. i didn't even know the olympics would be held this winter. people seem to make a fuss about the several japanese medalists (congratulations!) while i feel a bit isolated from japanese society as i'm not interested in what japanese people have got interested in...
Hi, guys. I've just watched a show about the site where you can find and watch tons of pirated manga. In the show, one of the commentators said if this continues, Japan should face a serious consequence on its own arts & creation culture in the near future, and I totally agree with him. They need to be closed NOW because its existence has no positive influence on anyone or anything whatsoever. And I was wondering, what are your thoughts on this issue? I'm curious.
> has no positive influence on anyone or anything whatsoever That's not quite true, at least everyone can get a free reading for their pastime. Isn't that great?
I see. Sometimes I doubt that younger generation even considers it as a problem. Their logic behind it is like "Why's that bad? Everyone's doing it. Why not me?" While I understand how their minds work that way, they need to imagine that someone's life is at stake and that someone's made the very work they're fond of. But sure, any solution to this won't be easy. :(
Haha, you are right about that. However, you know those acts of freeloading can only be made at the expenses of others who's actually willing to pay money for they read.
> those acts of freeloading can only be made at the expenses of others That's not true as well. For example, imagine there is one person who pays and one who just downloads. The first pays, say, $1, and the publisher gets $1, and the other one pays nothing. Now imagine there is one who pays and ten persons who download. The publisher will get $1 as before, and 10 persons will get their beloved content for free, but the one who pays will pay $1 - just as before. So you can't say that those 10 people get what they want at his expenses, because the amount that he pays didn't change.
when an airplane is used for the us president, the airplane is called "AIR FORCE ONE". then, what is the japanese counterpart airplane called in japanese?? isn't there such a word?
i caught the flu this winter (influenza b strain) even though i had got a flu shot. this means that flu shots are not perfect for the prevention of the disease. but they should still help decrease the possibility of catching the flu more than doing nothing, don't they?
WOW!! That's some well-put excuse for piracy. I've literally never seen like that kind of arguments before. So, you are saying that "a dollar for 1 piracy" and "a dollar for 10 piracy", either of which will always lead to the same amount of profit, ergo, I can't say the piracy is achieved at the cost of the consumer. I know what you mean there, but it seems like you are a bit off the points I was making. What I wanted to say was, unless the authors are payed enough money to keep her/his work going, he has to stop working on their stuff and maybe find another job. It's all about "paying or not paying", if everyone somehow decided to read their works for free and not paying even a penny, the result is obvious, the whole industry would be completely destroyed. And so that's why I used the word "expense", piracy wouldn't be possible if it weren't for people who pay for them, or without their "expenses"
It is very difficult to crack down such sites. Servers are located in many countries, and some countries have very lax copyright laws. Japan has one of most strict regulations but we cannot expect other nations to follow suit.
This is an intriguing article. I've never thought Mirai nagasu is a Japanese but an American. As a Japanese, I'm proud of her for being Japanese descendent, but I firmly believe she is deserved to be celebrated as an American cause she is an American. We cannot take the credit for her success, so she must be applauded as an American.
She didn’t have diffuclt triple-triple combination jumps nor triple axel. Most importantly, the quality of her jumps is not great which is the most important thing in today’s figure skating.
mr. imamura, the former mayor of nishinomiya city, doesn't appear to be a mayor. his roughly trimmed (or inattentively growing) beard and mustache make me think he is not a mayor.
When it comes to the qaulity jump, Sakamoto is good. Watch and learn.
On the other hand, Miyahara is bad like tiny jumps, under rotation jumps which do not rack up points. But her other elements like presentation, basic skating skill, spin, step are far more superior than Sakamoto.
i want to polish my engish skills so that i can use it without shyness or hesitation when working. i also wish to drive a car without timidity for a business purpose so i am practicing driving now. one of the things i think i should've been taught more often and thoroughly at the driving school is how to park your car at a parking lot. it is really difficult! i don't want to damage other people's cars!
That's almost half the market price. I always wonder how they make a profit out of such cheap snacks. Good job on buying all of them by the way, technically you left none for a child who may have wanted one.
Speaking of self-checkout machines, I once saw them back in Canada when I was on a short program for learning English. It was my first time using them and I had no idea about what was the proper procedures to follow through. I couldn't find any traditional cashiers at that time, and everything was written in stupid English and I was so lost. I just had been standing in front of the machine like an idiot until a shopkeeper came and told me how I use them. It was so embarrassing to the fact that even a 5-year-old child (I saw him) knew how and I didn't. Ever since then I've been keeping myself from using it even if I see it available at any shop. In short, fuck that machine.
i am jealous of you. i can not continue to keep track of the position of my car while trying to park. also, i have a big difficulty in understanding what the reflection of the left side view mirror is...
You’ll get used to it. And then I think you’ll be quite aggressive in a few years like me.
Sometimes when I encounter slow or just bad f*cking drivers especially weekends, I end up screaming in my car like “Get the fuck out of here!” “Fuck off!” “Move! That’s taking so long? Are you fucking kidding me?” “Did you really go to a driving school? You should go back there. Cuz you suck!”
Asashoryu should shut up about Chinggis Khan in the gag manga. At first I wasn't sure if his tweet was serious or a joke, but then the Monglian Embassy made a complaint on Facebook and the publisher has made an apology. I don't know anything about Asashoryu, but judging from his tweets, he is stupid and shouldn't be in the position of dealing with diplomacy.
It's a kiddy textbook doodling gag in a kiddy gag manga that 9 year old kids read. It's something kids do in real life. I did it a lot, too.
Some people have said it is akin to using a Japanese emperor in a gag manga, but that's totally off. Chinggis Khan is one of those universal legendary figures like Caesar, Alexander the Great, etc. Would anyone be offended if Caesar or Alexander was used in this gag instead of Chinggis Khan? I don't think so.
Whereas using a Japanese emperor in a gag manga would be highly political. The equivalent of this would be using a Korean emperor/king, for example.
I really hope people aroud him tell him to stop the tantrum. If this ends up creating some unwritten rule on manga, I will have to hate Mongolians. And I don't want to hate them. Unlike some Mongolian sumo wrestler haters, I think they are great, except this one Asashoryu. If you can't stand something like this elementary school penis gag in a manga, you shouldn't live in a foreign country in the first place.
Hope the 15-year-old Russian and the Canadian whore got stripped of their medals and the true queen Evgenia will get the gold medal and my sweet Satoko will get the silver medal!
DyDo's automatic vending machines of soft drinks talk to customers. the words or phrases they talk are very simple like "good evening." or "thank you very much.", but they have definitely eased my mind when i insert coins into the slot to get some soft drink. i admire whoever invented that heart-warming function.
You lack sporsmanship. Medarists did their job and deserve to be praised.
Anyway, it is predicted that this summer is hot. It is highly likely that Tokyo olympic games will be extremely hot in games and temperature... Every games must be held in early morning or night. This could also be good for broadcast in westen coutries.
I cannot agree with your opinion. The former Yokozuna has very positive attitude towards Japan. We should respond to it reciprocally. As long as he or some Mongolians felt it offensive, it must be addressed properly. And now they apologized to it. I hope that settled the issue.
It doesn't matter if the person likes the country or not. When a thoughtless tantrum has been thrown, it is a thoughtless tantrum no matter who threw it.
I have absolutely no problem with Asashoryu or any other Mongolians making a personal complaint about it. But demanding an apology through the Embassy over this schoolboy's penis gag? I want to ask them, how long did you think before deciding to make an official complaint? Did you consider that cultural differences exist between you and this country? Are you sure that demanding an apology over a schoolkid's gag is something you should do through your embassy
Mongolians are the ones who should learn to cope with it in this case. It's not like this gag is published every month to torment them. In fact, even without their complaint, it was very unlikely that this particular gag would be drawn and published by anyone ever again.
beats me... i guess some members of the organizer looked into changing the original schedule so that these two events' schedules would not be overlapped.
Marathon events are held throughout the nation recent weeks. They are causing traffic disruption and I'd been involved in one of them last week. That was terrible.
Like yours doesn't sound Japanese at all, how hilarious is that. No one gives a shit about other's style of writing or any small grammar mistakes, I thought this was the only rule here.
I just woke up. Terrible nightmare. Dream scary American Black man broke into house and punch me. Punch me till I die. I beg him to stop but he just laugh. He say FUCK YOU CHINK BOY. FUCK YOU. WE OWN THIS SHIT. He say some other words I don't understand. I woke up in tear. We have to help USA get rid of black people. Its for good of the world.
I think the scary American Black man was angry because chink boys infiltrated his country and planted spies. He was merely fighting back the chink boy invasion, I think.
Chink boys taking over your country via mass-immigration and infiltration is far more terrible a nightmare than a scary American Black man punching a chink boy to death to retake his shit.
enjoyed alot. I's thriled to watch any mathes whoever became the winner and wherever they're from. But when Japanese athletes got the medal, especially I was so exicitied hehe.
Ofcourse saw it:curling match between JP and UK. Their dialect “そだねー” is so cute, but one of the media reported that most of female audiences hate their behaivor cause of jealousy. Hmm…… how do you think? I don't think it correct.
In my opinion, men become unreasonably jealous when their confidence in ability is threatened, while women get hysterical when they see someone look better than them Judging from that fact the members are both talented and good-looking, their frustration must have been PMS-like intense, I assume.
Mongolians are still protesting about Chinggis Khan. I think I was wrong about him.
Although I doubt that any Mongolians are reading this post, I suggest that they hire someone else to do the diplomatic job. People like myself think Chinggis Khan is just one of those legendary historical figures like Caesar, and no one knows the present godlike status of him. And Asashoryu ranting like an idiot made it harder to understand. They need someone who can take their time to explain it.
But also there was one thing that smelled in this protest. In front of the publisher's building, the protestors were holding placards that say 謝罪しろ (Apologize) Why were they demanding an apology when the publisher had already apologized 3 days ago? I smell a Chinese operation.
To be precise, the placards said 小学館謝罪しろ So today they were specifically demanding an apology from the publisher and not the author. The publisher apologized 3 days ago.
I finish running in Tokyo Marathon a few days ago. I got in 26th place!!! My secret? I simply imagine all people behind me are black man try to rape and kill me. That make me run fast as a big cat in a jungle. My dad is proud of me for first time in my life. Still I think we should rid world of black menace before they invade and destroy Japan like they are France and USA. We must secure the existence of our people and a future for Japanese children. May white man rest in peace.
Balck men are physically superior so we yellow monekey japs should have a lot of sex with black people and we will have strong genes in future children.
I’m sure this way Japan will get tons of gold medals in the Olympics in the future.
i will start to work for a new company tomorrow. i admit that i feel a bit nervous when i think about whether i can get along with my new colleagues. i am wondering if i will have a chance of giving a brief speech to them at a morning session. if yes, i need to think about what to say...
>>Sparky The channel has finished its role as the good guys quit. So there is no point in staying there anymore. Please let the channel vanish by keeping it empty (no one is there exclude Q).
We may or may not happen to meet again someday, somewhere.
Usually people have one or two lower-ranked easy-to-pass schools in their list of college applications. Failing them all, sounds like your cousin/niece clearly had had too much hope in his/her academic prospect. Still I feel sorry for the guy. Tough life.
He was just like me! It was until a year to the exams that I had started studying hard. Thankfully in my case, I narrowly managed to enter a private collage relatively famous in the area, it was quite a huge leap for a slacker like me tbh.
Are you going to graduate schools? Then you need to study harder! Someone once told me that for anyone wants to go to grad schools (at least some of them), they need TOEIC score of 700 or up. Very difficult to pass for someone who's not into English.
i didn't have a medical checkup last year. one of my new year's resolutions is to have it as early as possible. my dad was hospitalized last year, which has partially motivated me.
i have just finished eating a bag of black-pepper-tasted pretzel. it's very spicy and i am now perspirating on my forehead and frantically wiping it off.
Looking through the news on CNN the other day, I came to know that there's one thing particularly conducive to gun related terrorism in the US, it's called bump stocks. With the help of the tool, you could turn normal semi-auto rifles into deadly weapons for mass-shooting. The scary part is that just owning it is totally legitimate in current jurisdiction. Of course, banning on having guns is the most effective solution to this, but since it won't happen soon, I think making those customization illegal is more urgent.
um, i am very sorry to haved delayed so much in replying, but if you could please allow me clarify... "jesus" is just an exclamation that people make when they're surprised, shocked, angry, etc. it's sort of similar to "oh my god!" or "what the hell!"
jesus actually comes up a lot in colloquial conversation, lol. which kind of did make 445 sound ironic, considering the context.
yesterday i felt lonely as i hadn't got a reply to my email that i had sent to one of my favorite soapland companions. i can not describe how delighted i was when i finally received the reply mail from her late last night.
no shame. i've continued to lose a lot of things one by one like friends, social status, money, youth etc and now i am almost a loser. it sounds strange, but the more things i lose the more confidently and carelessly i can behave in a way. it is because i don't have things that i don't want to lose any longer.
i believe that those, who have a lot of valuable things they don't want to lose, tend to behave in a very conservative way in order to protect what they've already got in their life. what they have done and what they have got are great and should be respected, but they themselves are not interesting or funny anymore.
Yeah, it was hot, too hot. I found it particularly hot during my daytime nap, so I checked the thermometer on my heater, it says 28 degrees!! HOLY FUCK! Is it summer? I know the thermometer was exposed to direct sunlight and the measurement itself doesn't come with much of accuracy, but still?
it is windy today. when i headed to the main office around 6pm, a sudden gush of a wind broke several metallic bones of my umbrella. it is a birthday present from my parents.
the white day will come next week. i can imagine a lot of hot, popular guys hand heartwarming presents to their special girlfriends in return for the valentine's day's gifts. i hope that i will not witness such a scene on the day.
Because people like to over-value things they are not familiar with. Not knowing much of good or bad results in baseless infatuation. You can also see that in how people always wish to be reborn in other countries, having little appreciation for what they own now.
if you search for "3.11" with yahoo! japan search engine on mar.11th this year, 10 JPY per user will be donated to a tohoku region reconstruction organization. do you know about it?
Why not? I don't understand your question, but the Sengoku period has many figures of great personality, so it's easy for writers and creators to make something out of it, I think. Besides, a bunch of people in medieval armor making war and conspiring against each other is just fun.
Speaking of medieval war, I have just started reading 三国志 for the first time. The story is long and going to take a few months to finish, I think. After finishing it, I will finally be able to talk about 孔明's trap with other people.
I have lived in japan for 15 years but I don't like at all. Lately, I was fired by the company I worked over 10 years. I though I was considered a veteran and worked as it shoud be. I worked overtime almost everyday and did a hell lot of job in spite of fairy low sarally. But one day I had an argument with my boss over several projects I had been working on. He never understood my point and got unbelievably heated to tell me he didn't need me any more. SO MUCH for japanese society!
To be fair, man. That happens everywhere. You've been living this country for a long time then you must know that being a smart ass won't get you life here.
6℃ is the expected highest temperature and 3℃ is the lowest in tokyo tomorrow. do you believe it? it is already early march... i have heard that an old saying goes "when march comes in like a lion, it goes out like a lame." i don't think it's true and wonder how many more times the severe cold will engulf tokyo (and the kanto region)...
the store i visit sometimes began to provide a costume play service recently. i think that if the provided costume perfectly matches my taste, it would help arouse my excitement to the fullest. but i am not sure what i actually wish for yet.
i just started practicing driving a car. the other day, when i tried to turn right at a cross road, cars which went straignt or turned left at a contrary lane continued so that i couldn't turn right. i felt fairly nervous as the traffic light seemed to turn from green to yellow to red at any moment, so i hardly got myself together...
i went to see a doctor today. it was fine and it is saturday today but the waiting room was packed with patients. i couldn't find any space to sit on but an old lady kindly offered making a space for me. i thought so many people are ill and suffer from something in the present japanese society. who should be blamed for this?
Today is the memorial day of the Tibetan uprising on March 10, 1959. I am slowly learning about this issue. There are so many other things I must do and study, but I will continue to learn about it in my spare time.
Do you know why those places are always crowded? It's because our lonely grandpas/grandmas see them like some kind of cheap day-care centers. They enjoy having chatters with a bunch of other oldies while people in need always get behind in their necessary treatments. I totally welcome the idea of how our medical expenses will be reduced as we get older, but that doesn't mean one can take advantage of them, does that
Plastic flowing into the ocean is becoming an international problem. Seacoast in my town is filled with plastic garbages. Taxpayers money is spent to clear such garbages. This is ridiculous because we are not the one that throw it. We have to track down the source and make them pay.
i have a lot of things i want to express or describe. but i don't have any means to do it like painting, composing music or writing light novels. the only thing i have continued to keep in touch with is ENGLISH, and i guess that's why i frequent this thread and freely post what i want to express or describe in english.
new product of 牛乳しぼり by glico has seemed to be launched recently. i like these series and am looking forward to eating it (and licking up the back of the paper cover of the cup).
Just finding out who's responsible won't do any good since only those who get caught learn lessons from that; not to mention that'd be extremely difficult. My idea is putting up a poster with something along the lines of "CLEAN BEACH OF NICE VISITORS" which will be having good influence on people's behavior in the long run. Classic reverse psychology. Secondly, keep beach clean by local officials everyday, then they won't even dare to make a mess there; which is another example of how people's minds work.
Marine waste!! My bad. I didn't pay close attention to the details. hmm... that's even more serious problem, isn't that. We will never know who's behind them, because it's not like they're coming with a name tag on it.
the supermarket i visit almost everyday has decided to stop selling my favorite ice cream. i gasped when i found the store's notice card put up at the sale place of ice creams. so i bought 6 pieces at once today which is "buy in bulk" for me.
Sometimes I dream of going back in time and be a college freshman again (with my memory retained). If by any chance I could ever do that, I'd be so much more successful.
i am allergic to pollen and it terribly bothers me these days. my nose is runny and my eyes are itchy and i continue to sneeze all day long. you can't deny that the pollen in spring has a bad effect on productivity at japanese workplaces...
I've thought that my English is already good enough and there is no need to improve it anymore. But today I came across an almost native speaker, who is actually Japanese, in one site. That person shows me that we can progress without limit and that there is no time to be self complacent.
Well, off the top of my head I would probably get to the girls whom I thought were easy first, and "befriends" with them; because now I have more confidence in handling them so at least I'd have better shots. Should have slept with so many of girls as possible when I could have, especially now that I'm one of those boring office workers I never get to even have a chance of meeting a new girl.
Anything else... I don't know. Sorry to let you down if you had expected me for more business-oriented ambitions.
I think only elites should learn English. I mean look at these stupid boring people. What do they do with English? They just talk some empty nonsense and that's it. Only elites who actually need to use English to achieve their goals should learn it. For others, it is a waste of time. School hours should not be wasted on empty nonsense talking skills. If non-elite people wanted to learn English, they should do it outside their school hours.
Sometimes I wonder what am I still doing here in this world when nobody cares everybody ignores me everybody hates me I really want to disappear not for a while but forever.
Even going on about gibber-gabber requires a certain level of sentence construction and the skills are transferable to any given situation, so.... it's not entirely meaningless imo ^^;
That's an excellent idea but it seems that the real obstacle to implement that is to define who is an elite in younger age. Can we confidently select future elites from a pool of kids when they are in elementary school? Don't you think there will be a ton of oppositions from parents of non-selected kids saying it's a discrimination? Elitism is never been well-perceived in Japan.
i guess you might see the world around you wrongly. how many people did you talk to in the past few months? the more often you start conversation with someone and build a relationship, the more people would start to care about you!
everybody knows that spending too much time in the sun may cause a serious damage to your health like sunburn and skin cancer. i feel that spending too little time in the sun also causes a serious damage but i can not provide any scientifc evidence or name the specific illnesses caused. i just have a hunch.
Also we need more Buddhists in order to pressure China and solve the Tibet issue. That's why I'm spreading Buddhism in here. Buddhism saves both you and Tibet at the same time. Even if you decide you don't like Buddhism after studying it, it will be a valuable part of your education, so it won't be a waste. Go to the library or a bookstore and try it. But there are some unpleasant Buddhist priests and scholars out there. Beware of them. Reading their unpleasant books can be valuable experience though. It deepens your understanding of this world.
I really should have tried to transfer to another university like Sophia. I think I could have passed some schools because I have 1 grade of Eiken, the perfect score of TOEIC etc etc
I’ve been suffering from “academic inferity complex” for a long time.
My little cuty eyes with blue tears is very heavy like a little stones on the old my bed tonight. I cant sleep this time because I was very tired because I have many walked on daytime of today.
So the sakura front already made its way up here in Aichi. Within a week or two that I'll be seeing tons of cherry blossoms in their full bloom and then a long-awaited flower viewing! Can't wait!!
I knooooww. Every freaking year after hanami, that garbage issue is all over the news. But I don't believe foreigner's are all responsible for them though ^^; It's a shame that Japan's most prestigious virtue of being nice to nature and everyone around has long gone...
Really? If I were them I wouldn't even risk it because they are full of germs!! 100 bucks a day for watching the sheet plus I get to join their party, I'll do it.
speaking of thrown-out garbages, i always wonder why a front basket of a bicycle is full of empty cans or bottles if the bicycle is left for a long time in japan...
I don't think hanami garbage is that much of a problem, unless the garbage is left there for days. If someone picks up the garbage and clean the place next day, it's good. Hanami is a drunken matsuri, you know.
Speaking of nature, I hear every summer that unagi is in danger of becoming extinct. So I've been telling people to eat anago instead.
I'm a Master of human being. I'm like God. My name is St. Pen.
I can achieve anything I'd like to. I don't eat anymore. I don't sleep either. And I can speak Japanese fluently. If you have questions, just ask me how to live like me. However, I seldom show up here.
To achieve your goal, never do as other people do.
Bashar, an extra terrestrial, sucks. Don't follow him. You would get severely damaged. I'll kill him, because he's going to kill people.
disagreed. her voice is that of an angel. but her career as a singer is obviously reaching deadends, which is not surprising, cuz after landed on that famous actor, her fans (or his fans?) still aint cool with that for sure.
what? exactly what part of her songs do you find so intolerable? hate to break it to you but i cant help but noticing that your judgmental attitude derives from your personal negative emotions agaist her not her songs. there are many more artists out there who better deserve your criticism.
hey do not fetch me a link to some random comments by mindless faggots and act like youve made your points i was asking for your opinions just to make sure that your hating is purely based on her skills as a singer and your music expertise, so tell me whatever thats bothering of her with your own words and we're done with this
How can people listen to her songs? She is completely intoxicated by her voice and songs and pretty sure she is under the illusion that she is the best singer in the world lol
The way she sings is just annoying as fuck like gaijins
yesterday i visited QB house, a major haircut chain store. the person who greeted me had had my hair cut too short once, so honestly i had a hunch that the same incident would happen again. and you know what? he did it again!
Yesterday I bought my highly anticipated copy of 貞子 vs. 伽椰子 (yes, two years later because I'm a 3rd worlder). It was terrible. As fun as it was to see Sadako wipe the floor with the Saekis, the movie was dull, boring, and the final fight lasted less tham ny trip to the bathroom.
I watched that too! and it was horrible... (not ghostly horrifying, it was badly-made terror...) Unlike you I had no expectation whatsoever besides the whole concept of having those two major Japanese horror antagonists fighting against each other. I don't know about you, but when the title goes like "A vs B", I think it always turns out to be crappy without single exception ^^;
One of my friends is non-japanese guy and his japanese speaking level is very limited. When he visited QB, he was rejected by staffs of QB because of his language problem. It is so ridiculous, isnt it? He seemed disappointed to himself, but the real issue is those shitty staffs, personally. They should communicate with customers in basic English. Im not saying they must speak english fluently in any situations but they should learn at least some barbar terms related to hair, like “shorter””longer””Do you feel itchy?” or kind of stuffs.
i have attended funeral ceremony several times up to now (my grandparents' or my cousin's). so i know how the ceremony proceeds and how you should behave. but i have never ever been to marrige ceremony and the following special party. so i don't know how the things go and what you should do and what kind of wedding feast you can eat.
While the proceeds and how to behave of funeral ceremony are relatively conventional in any places in all of japan, wedding ceremony and following reception is quite diverse. First of all, you’ve got to understand what type of couple(bride and groom) will hold their ceremenony which you attend and what type of venue will be used. Some couples want to pick a casual local small restaurant for the sake of saving money and avoiding getting attention, whereas some want to select a huge luxuary five stars hotel like Hilton in order to make a boast of their financial power and personal connection as many of celeblities do.
my immediate boss talks about himself a lot. he seems to want to brag about what he has or what he did and also he seems to want to be praised and admired by others. when he talks, he implies how rich he is (to be precise how rich his family is) and it makes me moan and groan and i feel like going home. who wants to hear such a story?
You should learn how to go in one ear and out the other. I would probably say like “Oh that’s great~~~~ you are amazing~~~~~ I’m jealous of you~~~~~~” you know empty replies
I hear you, friend. The last thing we want is someone in desperate need of approval and simultaneously happens to be your superior/senior. They are literally the worst collaboration ever... One day you may make your way up in the upper 5% of the corporate ladder, then you could become an ideal boss everyone can feel comfortable to be with, or at least we want you to...
i had a medical checkup today at a hospital near my house. usually the range of my blood pressure is 50-100, and sometimes, the maximum blood pressure has been under 100. it had to reach at least 100 this time for a reason, so i was really relieved to see the value "107" in a hospital room.
「All you NEETs, nerds, YouTube link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboo from around the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning linguists, stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys, Touhou pirates, and that electrical super-gay who suffers from mental diseas」
You know what? There's no Chosenjing on this list. I'm not invited and I feel so sad.
I'm a college student and learning Japanese. But Japanese first define me as a Korean, not a nerd or loser. At least those are my second identities. So precisely speaking, I'm not invited properly. Shame.
Today I finally got to watch a live-stream clip from UMF Miami, and Hardwell!! I never disappointed in his sets. His overall djing and selection of songs/genres were just EPIC as always. (just a bit less of Big Rooms and plenty of Hardstyles instead... but who cares? They were amazing anyway!) On his performance I didn't even need to skip the scenes (which was fantastic!!) I think one of the best qualities that famous DJs possess is that they do the transitions just the right timing and shifting it to another track that carries different vibes and refreshing tastes, thus they won't even let the audience feel them being tedious or even repetitive. And this isn't something that ordinary djs are capable of. This time again he was just being usual Hardwell :D Can't wait to see him at UMF Japan next September!!!
I think eating anago instead of unagi is an obvious thing to do to protect unagi. Using Anago from Sazae-san as its campaign character is also an obvious thing to do.
i believe you have heard of a question "which do you like better dogs or cats?". it is the question people tend to ask so often that you may already be sick of it. but why is this always cats vs. dogs, not birds vs. dogs or reptiles vs. dogs?
IKR? That question doesn't really account for those having equal affections for both cats and dogs, or as you said, for the ones into birds, fishes, and reptiles. I guess even when faced with such closed questions, people usually have the luxury to answer freely; so they just don't bother to bring it up.
when i was a high school student, one of my friends told me his little adventure. on the previous day, when he came back home from the school, he couldn't enter his house. he had forgot to carry the house key with him that day. he was at a loss what to do at first, but then, he straightened a few steel paper clips he had, tucked them into the key hole and fumbled them for a while and you know what? he succeeded in opening the front door!
Are you suggesting that you can be of any assistance then? Let's say what you are saying about yourself are true, hope you are not deriving the pleasure from just calling it out.
yes, and now there are two ladies i like and meet from time to time. i am sure that you need to spend a quite amount of time and money to find your favorite person you can exchange your contact info with (so as to make a reservation well in advance). by the way, after i began to go to such salons?, i had a difficultiy getting sexually excited by watcing the 2d porn videos on monitor. the personal experiences of physical contact with actual ladies somehow made a difference in myself.
when i travel by a train and if i can luckily take a seat, i am almost always at a loss what i should see (where i should turn my eyes). i feel quite embarassed in case my eyes meet those of the people sitting in front of me. so i end up keeping on looking at a screen of my portal device even when i am not in that mood. or i just pretend to sleep during the trip...which is really boring.
believing in supernatural bullshit is a clear indication of his lack in masculinity caused by hormonal imbalance, which also affects the natural development of his reproducting organs and from that i can easily conclude the guy's a pussy with a tiny little penis that you can barely notice its there
I don't know about his dick, but I know that 819 is a mentally ill 185cm tall Korean bisexual gym-goer with large muscles who always reports to us about having sex with someone.
speaking of smart, i would like to drive a "smart"-branded car with only two doors by mercedes-benz. it is compact, stylish and looks cute. i am a poor man so i can not afford it so far.
a fourth of 2018 will be past soon. time flies like an arrow. i decided to study english harder and tried to post in english as many times as possible here this year but i can not feel i have made progress.
> speaking of smart, i would like to drive a "smart"-branded car with only two doors by mercedes-benz. > it is compact, stylish and looks cute. > i am a poor man so i can not afford it so far.
Is that made by M.B? Have seen that car often before.
Do you use a dictionary to check your posts? I do everytime I post here. I post stupid things but actually make small progress each time. But I don't use English at all outside of this thread, so it's practically a waste.
I can relate to you. Things get pretty awkward upon looking straight ahead with someone sitting right in front of us... Looking out the window on the other side and the scenery passing by is one way to go, but sometimes people would feel uncomfortable about that, and so do I. Because it's almost as if they're staring at us. I just wish sometimes that all the seats were pointed in the same direction, everyone doesn't have to go through this dilemma.
Why people can’t pass Eiken 1 grade? Are they baka? I don’t think so because they even graduated from so-called prestigious universities. Then what’s their problem?
Because they don't use English much. The same reason why math is hard for many educated people who don't use it much. Even some Nobel prize scientists can't speak English well.
I'm currently studying Chinese history so that I can tell Kinpei to stop fucking with Tibet and be the sensible 王道 leader of Asia. One who knows his enemy and himself wins every battle. And so far I've learned these things.
1, 麺 means flour. It doesn't necessarily mean noodle. 2, Chinghis Khan was not Mongolian. He was Minamoto no Yoshitsune in disguise. 3, China invaded Korea. China must apologize and pay ODA to Korea every year.
> Do you use a dictionary to check your posts? I do everytime I post here. > I post stupid things but actually make small progress each time. > But I don't use English at all outside of this thread, so it's practically a waste.
Also this site help you to get better in english.Come come.
Why does the air be felt so fresh-like the moment I take a step outside? I mean I leave the windows open most of the time, so there shouldn't be much of the difference in there. Am I just imagining it?
Yeah for a second I thought about that too, but usually it won't take a few minutes until the heat from my ac would be gone once I open the window, so there's no way the air's not all freshened out too by that time. I suspect the change I feel actually comes from the difference in temperature or perhaps the wind? I don't know I suck at physics. Even with the windows are open, the air is pretty stagnant here because of how my room was designed. (only 2 windows, lined up next to each other)
about 20 years ago, many teenage girls liked to wear boots with too thick heels that were called "厚底ブーツ" in japanese. the heights of those heels were well more than 10cm so it was a strange scenery that humourously tall girls (taller than most men) walked around here and there in town. you can easily imagine it can't you?
it seems to have been scientifically proved that people, who have a good habit of jogging or swimming or cycling regularly, develop part of their own brains which stimulates motivation/eagerness/positive attitude. i need to exercise more...
yes and 1 thing i can't believe even now is that some girls drived their cars with those tall boots on. some of them failed to put the brakes on in time to cause traffic accidents. why didn't they imagine it would be very hard to put the brakes on???
I don't know where the table comes from but the US minimum wage there is quite wrong. The US Federal minimum wage is much lower than that number at $7.25. At state level, the highest is $11 in states like California.
An issue that huge can't be factored into single cause. Is it Japan's shrinking workforce from the low birth-rate in recent years? Or Japan's economic policies? Rising JPY? Maybe there is a repeating boom and bust cycle and we are in the middle of the fall. All we can do is wait for them to recover, and once we are through, we just provide the most reasonable ex-post-facto explanation for them, as always.
the highest temperature will reach 24 degrees celsious today. i guess i can go only with short-sleeve shirts in the daytime. windows of trains are smoked with vaper when i commute to the office, as the air conditioners haven't been turned on by the trains clues yet.
Just so you know, the only nonsense I can hear is that you bitching about other's comments and not making any contribution to the topic, Dr. I-Know-Everything?
uh...yes..so cool, but the other commuters on the same train would frown at me. some of them might call the police or train clue to ask for arresting me.
today, a large drawing caught my eyes in a station. the drawing felt a little strange to me so i came over to it just out of curiousity. and i realized that someone hadn't painted it but that it consisted of so many pieces of colorful plastic pet bottle caps. it was so spectacular.
Why is that Koreans always post comments on Japanese videos on Youtube?
I watched this video and basically gaijins enjoy instant ramen from nissin and this Korean posted thr comments like “Ramen = South Korea = K-Pop = Do you listent to K-POP?”
i believe that most of young generation don't know how to put on japanese traditional clothes, including fundoshi. it must be pretty embarassing if a fundoshi accidentally comes off a guy's body in train during his travel to work...
> Why is that Koreans always post comments on Japanese videos on Youtube? > > I watched this video and basically gaijins enjoy instant ramen from nissin and this Korean posted thr comments like “Ramen = South Korea = K-Pop = Do you listent to K-POP?” > > I mean like what their problems?
No. Everytime gaijins on Youtube show some Japanese things like food, products etc etc, some annoying Koreans and Korean wanabees post like “Next, Korean ramen please!” “I love Korea! Japan? No...” etc etc
strong wind is blowing violently. the apartment i live in must have been built firmly but my room vibrates slightly every time the wind blows toward the apartment.
i didin't do anything other than browsing websites yesterday. i just went out to a cleaning store to wash, repair threre in the evening to visit a cleaning store to. i motorgatee ehtsoteetcc... in most case, a chrome(256.*****************) in most cases
I do not remember feeling when I first ate with a fork or a knife, but I think it was a fresh sense. I had the experience of eating curry by hand in India before, but there was a slightly different fresh feeling. I feel like I was playing mud when I was a child.
i rented and drived a car today. the person, who had rented the car just before me, seemed to have left the radio on. so, when i started the engine, i heard a piece of music being played from the radio. i didn't want to be distracted by something while driving, but i didn't know how to turn off the radio......
no i don't. and one thing i don't think is good is that i try to drive a car before reading the driver's manual for the car. so i sometimes get in trouble (not a big trouble like running over somebody).
you ask if there're some organizations to introduce the job for people who're looking for their jobs, right? Checking some websites, you may find what you want to know.
i just ate a bag of wasabi-taste potate chips by Calbee. this product is a time-limited edition of their poplular series "堅あげ chips", so i pounced at it when i found it on a shelf of a supermarket. yummy yummy.
would you buy storys of a man, who is said to have possibly lived 2 millennium years ago, and who knew nothing about the complex of modern human relationship, modern technologies and world beyond a tinny middle east district?
No. Until yesterday, I didn't know that this idiom was from the Bible, so I asked if people knew it. I think it's kinda strange that a phrase from the Bible has become a commonly used idiom in Japanese. Maybe it was just translated from some English book and spread from there.
When I first saw someone saying "kill two birds with one stone" in English, I thought 一石二鳥 was translated into English from Chinese. But it was the other way around. It was an English idiom made into a 四字熟語.
when i get nervous or upset, much sweat appears in my armpits. sure, i try to calm myself down and stop the sweat from flowing on my arms and dripping to the ground. but it almost always backfires and i am bothered by more sweat. how can i deal with it?
